My favorite request was a French dude who came to my party in Berlin and asked me for Spider Harisson “beautiful day”. What amazed me most was that this had happened just about a month after I had bought the 45
my worst request of all time was when some (older) girl entered the DJ booth and gave me a gym bag containing her little dog, asking me to keep an eye on it while she celebrated NYE…
Some people are just fucked up beyond repair.
Dj Frank’s musical influences span the globe. However, Frank’s influence on music also spans the globe. His ground breaking Vampyros Lesbos party brought the sound of European Sexploitation soundtracks to one of the best and most original dj nights Nyc has ever seen. He retuned the favor, by going back home with some of the deepest American funk and soul that Europe had ever heard.
His most recent travels took him to West Africa on a 3 year record digging trip to West Africa. He has now returned to Nyc to share his discoveries.
Supreme is a man amongst toys when it comes to the record digging game. You might think the only place you might find a record collector of his status would be amongst a dark dusty vinyl packed basement.
Thankfully, for us all, he can also rock a champagne soaked bottle service party for the “beautiful people”. I’m assuming it’s these same beautiful people that leave Preme notes like these. Kudos Mr. Supreme, this exquisite documentation is the inspiration behind canirequest.com
2 of my worst: “Funky Cold Madina” at a college hip-hop night in 97. And when I told the douch,,, I mean dude I wasn’t playing that he gave me the devil horns and said, “why not, Tone Loc ROCKS!!”. Now mind you, this was all being shouted in my ear during a ol’ skool set. You can’t help but to just laugh it off. Or , one night this older, very drunk dude wanted to fight me because he gave me $20 to play “Thriller” during an 80’s set and he said I didn’t play it long enough. never fails!!
This picture was submitted by DJ Benny B, a NYC based DJ. You can find him DJ’n every Wednesday, and every first Friday of the month at Huckleberry Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and every Saturday at Firefly in dowtown Manhattan. He will gladly accept a milli$$$ in return for playing your song.
